Ingredients
Pomfret fish 4 pcs
Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Onion sliced 3
Tomato sliced 3
Coriander leaves
Water
Cleaning
Cut off the tail and fins on either side
Remove the guts by cutting open the fish just below where you cut the fins off
Wash the fish thoroughly with cold water + salt + flour, till water runs clear
Directions
Make cuts on either side with knife
Marinate with salt, 1/4 tsp red chilli powder and 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Now in a pan, heat oil. When the oil becomes steamy hot, add the marinated fish and fry from both sides until becomes golden brown
When done, take them out from oil and put them aside
In the same pan, add sliced onion and saute it well until golden brown. Add water as required with salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and fry at medium heat for couple minutes
Add sliced tomato and cook all ingredients to form the gravy, add water if needed
Add fried fish to the gravy and sprinkle coriander on top. Close lid and let it cook for 5-10 mins at medium heat.
Serve hot!
