Ingredients:
¼ cup cooking oil
1 kg of chicken pieces
½ tsp salt
½ cup sliced onion
1 bay leaf
2 small cinnamon sticks
5 cardamom
5 cloves
8-10 peppercorn
½ cup onion paste
1 tsp garlic paste
1 tsp ginger paste
1 tsp green chili
½ cup plain yogurt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp ground coriander
½ tsp shah jeera
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp fried onions
1 cup hot milk
Garnish
1 tsp ghee
½ tsp kewra water
2 tbsp fried onions
2-3 green chilies
Instructions:
1. Drizzle cooking oil in a pan and add curry cut chicken pieces
2. Stir for few minutes to release water from the chicken and remove from the pan
3. Add sliced onions and cook until soft
4. Stir in bay leaf, small cinnamon sticks, cloves, and peppercorn
5. Add onion paste, garlic paste, ginger paste, and green chili paste saute until oil separates
6. Mix in yogurt and sugar to the pan
7. Add the ground coriander, shah jeera and stir very well
8. Toss in the chicken pieces, fried onions, and salt
9. Sauté for 5 minutes
10. Pour in hot milk
11. Cover with lid and cook for 30 minutes while stirring occasionally
12. Garnish with ghee, kewra water, fried onions, and green chilies
